How to Choose Your Electric Pressure Washer for Commercial Use

December 4, 2017 By admin 10 Comments

This is my story about the summer season.

I have an electric pressure washer. I use this washer at the weekend for no more than 2 hours in my garden. I usually clean my garden furniture, front-ways, personal cars, and some small tools with the machine. Most of the time in the year, it remains idle.

Now, if I wish to use my machine in a wider sphere of business, for example, for cleaning a ship or an industrial building, is this possible to occupy my equipment there?

Now Then, What Actually Interprets the Commercial Pressure Washer?

There is a lot of difference between a residential best pressure washer and a commercial pressure washer. A commercial pressure washer is designed and engineered to make a profit. They are manufactured for more frequent and heavy-duty use. So, they are equipped with the best combination of better engines, better pumps, and better attachments. On the other hand, a residential pressure washer is designed with seasonal and irregular light-duty use in mind.

But, there a misconception exists; cleaning power. A residential pressure washer might come with 3500 PSI and 3 GPM where an industrial pressure cleaner might come with only 2000 PSI and 2 GPM. This is not a factor. That commercial pressure washer can be 3X expensive as the residential one. They might have better attachments. So, it is important for you to choose the right electric pressure washer for your commercial use.

Let’s see.

Know the Type of Pump

Direct Drive Pump

It is hooked up to a hollow cylinder to the engine drive cylinder. The pump maintains equal speed as the engine runs. And, the pump is also adjacent to the hot engine. As a result, the pump gets hotter and contributes to cutback the durability of the components and the machine itself.

Anyway, if we compare the direct drive pump with the belt drive pump, a direct-drive pump is very simple to connect the pump to a direct drive cleaner. Additionally, it is comparatively cheaper and more solid.

Verdict

Is a direct drive pump good or bad for you? The cost will less to you and save your space with maximum efficiency. On the downside, it is not very long-lasting. It causes overheating and vibration of the machine. In addition, the pump runs very fast. So, it cannot suction water from the pump properly.

Now make a judgment. A direct-drive pump is good for you if you use your electric pressure washer as a secondary instrument to draw profit. It is not the only tool for your projects where you run several projects in your business.

Belt Drive Pump

A belt-driven pump is attached to a belt and a couple of wheels to the engine drive pole. The mechanism permits the pump to at a one-third speed as the direct drive pump. It, furthermore, helps the pump to stay far away from the high-tempered engine. Consequently, the pump runs in cool and calm conditions and gets an increasing life-span as well. But it may, sometimes, happen that the equipped belt and wheels are not as efficient as expected. Besides, these will require more maintenance procedures.

Verdict

The same question; if the belt drive pump is better for you or not. As the pump runs cooler due to lower RPM, it will increase the tour machine’s life-span. The belt absorbs the produced vibration of the engine. On the drawback, it will require you extra maintenance required with the least efficiency.

So, what should you opt for? A belt drive pressure washer pump is ideal for you if you use your machine for a full-time period and more frequently in your industry.

Decide Gas or Electric Pressure Washer

Electric Pressure Washer will require you lower maintenance procedures and costs. It is calmer and quieter. You can use it in any indoor project as it needs an electric outlet nearby the unit to power it. You do not need to tense for the refueling of the machine. But an electric power cleaner is highly expensive for the initial acquisition.

Gas Washer is ideal for any outdoor or mobile contract cleaning project. It eases the movement of the machine itself. You won’t find any electric outlet near your pressure washer. Moreover, the gas-powered unit generates more power at less cost. It will need gas as its fuel. Adversely, it needs more maintenance costs and procedures.

Verdict

Which can suit best your purposes? A gas pressure washer is preferable if you use your machine for the outdoor and mobile contract washing project to draw more revenue for your business.

Decide Hot or Cold Water

The hot water, no doubt, cleans faster. It works up the dirt and debris substances to get off the objects. Soap or detergent pulls the grime off. Both exciting the debris elements and pulling the debris elements contribute to clean the surface faster. There is a solid study of thermodynamics and kinetics. Due to the extreme temperature, water bounces around dislodging any feeble molecules like an oil stain on the ground. The existing heat improves the internal strength of the water attracting forces on a microscopic state. But it often happens that the burner and its fuel is a problem to handle. And it will cost approximately &1000 more than a cold water cleaner.

The cold water is not as strong as a boxer as the hot water. It cannot surround and bounce the dirt on the surface and wash off. Rather it helps the dirt clot together. It is very slow. According to physics terminology, cold water is unable to get closer to dirt and debris and finish off.

Verdict

Which will meet your requirements? The hot water washer is perfect for you if you use your machine for a large and regular volume of jobs and for heavy and stubborn dirt. When you need a quick wash in a large area, hot water will clean faster. Coldwater is suitable for your small and docile dirt surfaces. Sometimes, it is suitable for summer use.
